Jakarta Social Agency (Dinsos) Head, Premi Lasari revealed the Jakarta Provincial Government's strategy to reduce the number of poor people in Jakarta as conveyed byJakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS) some time ago where the figure dropped to 17,100 people.

Social Agency were tasked with implementing interventions to accelerate extreme poverty

Social Assistance in the context of social protection rolled out by the Jakarta Government is one of the ways to reduce the burden on Jakarta poeple, as mandated by Governor Instuction Number 34/2022 on Acceleration of Eliminating Extreme Poverty in Jakarta.

"Social Agency were tasked with implementing interventions to accelerate extreme poverty in a targeted manner through this policy strategy, including reducing the burden on society and increasing people's income," he expressed, in Jakarta, Wednesday (7/19).

Synchronize Data and Intensify Social Aid Right on Target, City Commits to Overcoming Poverty in Jakarta

The Jakarta Government has currently matched Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) as stipulated by Social Ministry (Kemensos), which was matched with Targeted Data for the Acceleration of Extreme Poverty Elimination (P3KE) sourced from P3KE task force, namely Coordinating Ministry for PMK, BPS, and BKKBN.

He explained matching population data, data on asset ownership, and taxes from DTKS and social assistance recipients, his party would continue to carry out together with the Population and Civil Registration Agency (Disdukcapil) and Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) as an effort to update the data, thus the social assistance program was right on target and the numbers poverty in Jakarta continues to decline.

"In terms of carrying out the registration of data on poor residents originating from P3KE data, Social Agency synergizes with various related regional apparatuses, in which the process of providing P3KE data is obtained from Bappeda, then matching is conducted with asset ownership and tax data from Bapenda, then we synchronize it with Disdukcapil population data, as the mobility of Jakarta's population is quite high, so we'll do the equivalent data with the Dukcapil first," he explained.

"There is an equal relationship between asset ownership and taxes with Bappenda, as in the Governor Decree 1250/2022 on Regional Typical Variables, residents who have cars and NJOP above 1 billion cannot be registered in the DTKS," he continued.

After matching the data, his party was supported by several OPDs including the PPAPP Agency in terms of matching family data, Diskominfotik in terms of assistance and technical support for verivali tools, namely the vervalbansos.jakarta.go.id system, Social Welfare Bureau in facilitating policies, Government Bureau for support from regional ranks such as Mayor/Regent, Sub-district heads, urban village heads, and also support from all elements of society starting from RT, RW, LMK, PKK, Dasawisma, and others to participate in monitoring verification and field validation carried out by assessors and social assistants (pendamsos).

"So, hopefully, later the data on the recipients of social assistance will be people who are truly worthy and right on target. If the data on beneficiaries is appropriate and on target, then the acceleration of eradicating extreme poverty will be realized quickly," he added.

"In the future, that is what we will continue to do and take to the field. In stage 1 starting from July 20 to 30 and there will be the next stage, namely updating DTKS through accelerating P3KE data registration," he concluded.

Jakarta BPS Acting Head, Dwi Paramita said that her party recorded the poverty rate in Jakarta in March 2023 by 4.44 percentage points, down at 0.09 percentage points compared to March 2020 by 4.53 percent. Or when compared to September 2022, the poverty rate is currently down by 0.17 percentage points.

He explained the number of poor people in March 2023 was 477.83 thousand people, a decrease by 17,100 people compared to September 2022. And when compared to March 2020 which was the start of Covid-19 Pandemic, the number of poor people had decreased by 3,030 people.

"This is a good precedent in the midst of various poverty alleviation efforts being carried out by the Jakarta Government. This achievement is surely inseparable from the government's efforts in poverty alleviation. One of them is to increase income, especially in the poor community groups," she uttered.
